The Belgian Shepherd Dog is a breed of sheepdog family, sometimes classified as a variety of the Belgian Shepherd Dog rather than as a separate breed. The Malinois is identified in the United States under the name Belgian Malinois. Its name is the French word for Mechlinian, which is in Dutch either Mechelse herdershond or Mechelaar (one from Mechelen). The Belgian Shepherd is an very intelligent but interesting breed to live with. Athletic, active, graceful, and stylish, the high-energy Belgian Shepherd is regularly in motion, often moving in fast, light-footed circles. Similar all Belgian Shepherds, the Malinois is a medium-sized and square-proportioned dog in the sheepdog family. The Malinois has a short mahogany coat with black coat. It has black straight ears and a black nose. It has a square build in comparison to the German Shepherd. The Belgian Shepherd dog needs a lot of exercise (running, hiking, biking, stylish) to stay in hard condition.
Temperament:
Well-raised and trained Belgian Shepherd is usually active, friendly, protective and hard-working. The Belgian Shepherd breed is sensitive to improvement, so he requires a light hand on the leash. But he also knows his own mind and can have dominant tendencies, so you must project control and leadership at all times. These Breeds are large, strong dogs that require regular respect training, and Belgian Shepherd enjoys being faced with new responsibilities.
